HobbyTown USA says Type One is fun!

HobbyTown USA keeps Type One Tournaments going in Lincoln, Nebraska each and every month with a tournament. We hold these on Saturday's with the key being fun. The prizes are based on attendance. If we have 15 or more players then top prize will usually be a mox. Random booster packs given to the other contestants. The tournaments are not sanctioned for those that care about their type one rating because of the proxies. But more often than not its just about having fun with the cards you can't play with in other formats. Yes, we do have the occasional 'mutant win on turn one deck' show up, but honestly they don't always win. Plus it's nice to see the variety of decks that show up. A good discard deck, combined with some land destruction, and mixed with a Phyrexian Negator or two is just as likely to win. That or the Goblin hoard. So bring a deck and have some fun. That's what it's all about.

Proxy Rules:

If you wish to use proxies at one of our Vintage events, please follow these rules:

Full name of the card (no abbreviations or nicknames).
Correct casting cost of the card including all colored mana symbols.
All relevant/game effecting text.
Please write clearly and neatly.
Proxies must be created by modifying a basic land card.
Photocopies of cards are also acceptable. If you choose to use a photocopy of a card, please make sure it is glued or taped to a regular Magic card and is unnoticeable when shuffling.
Collector’s Edition (CE) cards are acceptable proxies.
All decks using proxies must be sleeved.
