Extended Rotation Announcement! 

Starting fall of 2008, Extended will rotate every year when the fall expansion becomes legal for Standard play.  What this means is that the Invasion block and the Odyssey block will rotate out of extended as scheduled in October 2008.  However the Onslaught block will not rotate with them.  Instead it will rotate out in the Fall of 2009 when the Standard rotation occurs.  Each year thereafter one extended block will rotate along with one standard block each fall.  As they have not made any announcement on rotation of base sets, one can assume it will probably happen each fall after a new base set is released.  Every two years most likely if they follow their current replacement schedule.
